Happiness is. . . the Best Recovery Ever!

Jennifer Lawrence accepting the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook"

Hello darlings!  This post is dedicated the one and only Jennifer Lawrence.  Boy, isn't she amazing?  She is young, beautiful, talented and, unlike many other Hollywood starlets, she seems so real and down to earth.  I first took notice of the 2013 Best Actress Oscar winner in the movie "Like Crazy".  Then, when "The Hunger Games" came out, I noticed that she had something very special about her and agreed that she was the best Katniss they could've ever picked.  After seeing her impressive performance in "Silver Linings Playbook" I knew she had a big chance to win the golden statue and sure enough she did.  And she is only 22!  Wow!

She was a vision on Oscar night.  The hair, the makeup, that Dior dress... she was perfection.  I was genuinely HAPPY for her when they announced her as the winner.  And then, we all know what happened...

Falling on her way up to accept her award

As she made her way up to the stage to accept her award she tripped on her gorgeous Dior gown and fell on her knees.  I was horrified!  But then, Jennifer Lawrence gave me a lesson that I will never forget.  Instead of making a big deal out of it, she got up, made a little joke about it and kept going like nothing ever happened.  Cause that's what normal people do: you fall, you get up and you carry on.  In the end, all these celebrities, well they are just like us.

I found this funny video on YouTube of a press conference she attended after her triumph.  When one of the reporters asked her what was she thinking when she fell she said "A bad word that i can't say. It starts with an F" and she also admits that she had a shot right before going on stage.  Isn't she so cool?

Then the week after her win, Dior announced that they picked her as the new face for their Miss Dior handbags campaign.  The whole world is in love with Jennifer Lawrence and it's easy to see why.

After seeing how Jennifer Lawrence recovered so gracefully from that fall and seeing all the positive things that are still coming her way I felt very inspired, not only to write this post but to apply it to my own personal life.  As I mentioned on my first blog post, I have Crohn's disease and unfortunately I have to have surgery tomorrow.  I've been kind of bummed lately but I've been trying to distract myself with the things that make me HAPPY, like, for instance, writing this blog.  Thanks to Jennifer Lawrence I will go to this surgery tomorrow with a positive attitude, knowing that we all fall sometimes    but we just have to get up the courage to stand up and keep on walking.  I too can recover from this.  Jennifer Lawrence if you ever read this (which I doubt but miracles do happen) thank you so much for the strength and the inspiration.

Besos, Isabel xox

PS: I will take a break from this blog due to my surgery but come back as soon as I'm able to :)
